Palm Desert

Memorial day weekend we went to Palm Desert with my family. Every spring my family goes to stay in the Marriott Shadow Ridge where we relax in a condo right on the golf course.

Over the weekend we enjoyed watching the golfers go by (and laughing at the ones who are not so good), working on our tan at the pool, playing games, watching movies and eating good food.

Tristan and my dad went golfing a couple of times, their favorite thing to do, while all the girls got pedicures. I want to go back already.

Garage Sale

My mom is the young woman's president in the ward and yesterday we had a garage sale at my house to raise money for the girls to go to girls camp. Members in the ward donated things and come garage sale day, we had tons of stuff!!

Tristan was an excellent bargainer and sold lots of stuff.

Me on the other hand? Not so good... apparently i overcharged. So i just supervised while Kelsey sold muffins and doughnuts.

By the end of the day we made some gnarly dough and now all the girls can go to girls camp for almost free :)

Mooooove

Last weekend, as you all know, we moved. I almost shed a tear as i closed the door to our old apartment one last time, but not quite. It was the first place we ever lived together, many 7 peaks memories we'll be able to remember and laugh. It was too bad we never got that 7 Peaks swimming pool we tried to convince Thayne to buy. But out with the old and in with the new. We gladly upgraded to a new place in Orem. Thanks to our home teacher and the good looking Jackson family we moved all our stuff in just one truck load and were done by noon.

Tristan and Ryan picked up the new graduation couches but had a little... or rather huge problem getting them in the house. The couches were so big they wouldn't fit through the front door. After an hour of trying we resorted to the only option... tearing out the living room window to get them in the house. (Hope my landlord isn't reading this). Not to worry, Tristan put the window back in like nothing ever happened. We moved in on Saturday and drove home Sunday morning. We were only able to enjoy the new place for approximately 12 hours before we came to Carlsbad. Pictures of the final product to come we we get home.

For Brady

Here's a quick tour through our new apartment of the living room and kitchen. This is what we accomplished in one day of moving before we came to Carlsbad for a month...it's still in progress.

700 Miles

That's how many miles i'm currently away from my hubby. Tristan and I are living in different states. Interesting and lame, i know. Tristan packed me up and sent me to Carlsbad on Wednesday to work as the "Office Administrator" at the Wells Fargo Home Mortgage branch in Encinitas. Happens to be the branch my Dad works at. I'm basically the "go-to girl" in the office and I make everyone's life a little less stress free. The office is really busy right now so i have a lot to do which helps the days go by fast. I love hanging out at home during a non-holiday time, its just everyday life. And i love coming home after work to mom's dinner on the table. Being home is just not the same without my significant other.
We are now t-minus 4 days till moving day. YES! My mom and i have been shopping for new house decorations. I found some jewels, including this bad fish... dont be scared.

I fly back to Utah Friday to help Tristan with the move and then we will be driving home Sunday. Its going to be a crazy 2 days. Hope everyone has a great week.
