SPEAK TO ME

Today, the BYU testing center screen spoke to me. Let me explain...

After you have entered through these doors, are handed your test, picked a seat out of the 650 there, filled in some bubbles, handed your test back in, walked down the stairs, opened the door you suddenly behold the testing center test score screen. This screen reveals the score you just received. If you score a 90% or above it will have something written next to your score. Like, "Nice Work!", "Good Job", "Way to Go" or "Perfect!". In my last 4 years I have always envied these people but today the screen spoke to ME! I double checked my ID number and couldn't believe my eyes. BOOYA! OH YEA! Im Awesome! We were joking once that if you do really bad the screen should say stuff like, "You Suck", Study Harder", or "Better Luck Next Time". That would have been me more than once. oops.
Take that Orthopedic Impairments midterm!!!

Valentines Weekend

I am so sad that the weekend is over! It went by wayyyy too fast. My Mom, Makenzie, Kelsey, and her friend Sara arrived Thursday morning at 3:30 AM after driving from Carlsbad. Friday morning Kelsey, Sara and I woke up for my 8:00 class and it was snowing.

They enjoyed learning about Orthopedic Impairments and Western Humanities. After class we went to Einstein Bagels for breakfast. (It might sound like we ate a lot and its because we did.) Then we sat around and talked and went to get lunch at Burger Supreme because my mom was craving fry sauce. Sara LOVED her first experience of fry sauce. Tristan hates the stuff and I love it so its always an ongoing argument. Next we went to the Draper Temple open house. It was absolutely beautiful with its earth tone interiors and huge chandeliers. I want to decorate my house with the furniture they used... it looked like it was straight out of Anthropologie. I tried stealing a couch but they caught me :) We had a fun time teaching Sara all about temples. As you can see it was a bit cold. We had to park and wait in a chapel, watch a video, and then take a bus over to the temple. This is us in the process. Once we arrived we met up with Grandma and Grandpa Jensen and the Barney clan.

After the temple all 15 of us went to California Pizza Kitchen for dinner. Yummy!

After dinner we stopped by Spoon Me (an ice cream place that is SUPER trendy and you have to be good looking to eat there, seriously) because Kelsey wanted to get a shirt and take some pictures.

After Spoon Me we played some Wii and then went to YoZone for ice cream (its better ice cream) and Kelsey and Sara thought it was funny that it was 20 degrees outside and we were eating ice cream. The reality of it is that ice cream is fabulous anytime of the year.

Saturday, Tristan went snowboarding at Snowbird with the Barney's

while i went shopping with the girls in Provo and at the Gateway in Salt Lake. Later that day we all ended up at the Grandparents house for some dinner and a Valentines Day movie.
Sunday we hung out all day and then Tristan, Kelsey, Sarah and I visited temple square. Beautiful as always.

Tested Positive

After staying home from school Thursday and Friday i went to the BYU Health Center (which is staffed with horrible doctors and is always a miserable experience...but that's all for another day) and was tested positive for the Influenza A virus. Because it was not caught earlier there is no prescription medication i can take that will fight the virus. So instead i have concocted my own drug cocktail that includes pseudophedrine, Ibuprofen, Nyquil, and Robitussin.
So many drugs, i know, but its what gets the job done. I'm currently in a Pharmacology class and it is interesting what new view i have on the way drugs work in the body.
I did a little research and found that, "Influenza, commonly shortened to "flu," is a respiratory illness caused by influenza A or B viruses. Flu appears most frequently in winter and early spring. The flu virus attacks the body by spreading through the upper and/or lower respiratory tract. The common cold and flu are both contagious viral infections of the respiratory tract. Although the symptoms can be similar, flu is much worse. A cold may drag you down a bit, but the flu can make you shudder at the very thought of getting out of bed." (Amen to that!!) In the mean time here is my little Influenza A virus floating around my body. KILL IT!

Timberwolf

Its true... I'm a Lancer and now a Timberwolf too. Here's a couple of pictures from one of our Friday night boys varsity basketball games. These are all the students making a tunnel at half time for the players to run through.

Half time huddle....

#50 could pass for a 27 year old
#1 needed his calf rubbed out but he wouldn't let the guy athletic trainer touch him until i came cause he wanted me to do it. Haha... i love high school boys.

New Addition to the Family

Recently we have had 2 new additions to our family.
First, for Christmas i got a new Crock Pot. Yay! My old one just didn't cook things very well. So this last Sunday I tried it out for the first time and made some rump roast for fast/Super Bowl Sunday. After 9 hours of cooking it turned out good and was very scrumptious. As you can see my new one dwarfs my old one and it is so shiny and pretty.

Second, Tristan surprised me on Monday by finding me between classes (all my classes are in the same building so i guess it wouldn't be that hard) and said he did something that morning that he needed to tell me about. (He bought us a house? Got me my Lexus IS?... i had no idea) He told me he returned his XBox 360. I about fell to the floor. I couldn't believe it. Tristan! I got that for you for Christmas! What are you doing!? He reassured me that it was his decision and that is what he wanted to do. The next surprise came when he drove me to Target and we bought a new Wii in exchange for the XBox. I was so impressed by him and his willingness to think of me. Along with the Wii we got the Wii Fit board.

All week we have been playing the Wii trying to get better at it. It cracks me up the way it practically insults you. I gained a pound from one time i played to the other and it told me i needed to lay off the afternoon snacks. And it also asked me what i thought about Tristans posture. Ill admit ill miss coming home to this everyday...

He did get Call of Duty: World at War to play on the Wii so at least he can still get his fill in of shooting people.
