GMAT and a Job

The last two days have been eventful for Tristan. Yesterday he took the GMAT for his application to the Information Systems masters program. He walked into the test knowing he had to get a 600 to be competitive in the application process and he walked out with a 690! Yea honey! He was so happy about his score. I am very proud of him and all his hard work and studying. Next in order, dinner at Sizzler to celebrate Tristan's rockin' score. 

Today was Tristan's first day of work at his new job. He is now working as a Web Developer at the BYU Law School. He reports that he had a great first day of work and he is excited to be getting ISYS work experience. Today we celebrated his first day of work with homemade ice cream sundays. Brownies, cookies n' cream ice cream, bananas, and LOTS of toppings. Yum! 

Date Night

Ill always remember my Exercise Prescription professor, Dr. Allsen. He is in his 70's, at least. He has these catch phrases that he would repeat every class. He would say the beginning of the phrase and the whole class would finish it. One of these was: "What is Friday? Date night!"

Last night was Friday Date Night. Tris and I enjoyed some pizza at CPK and then topped it off with a little Yo Zone. Yum! I forgot how much i love Yo Zone.

  Dr. Allsen also said, "Want an easy way to figure out if you're fat? Take off all your clothes and jump up and down in front of a mirror. If you have jiggle, you just might be overweight."

RMATA

This last weekend I was in Denver, CO for the Rocky Mountain Athletic Trainers Association symposium. I was contemplating for 2 weeks about going and finally decided to go and it was soooo worth it. Meaning, I am so glad i went when comparing how much i spent versus how many CEU's i earned.

Background: The United States is divided into districts. Utah is in the 7th district which also includes AZ, WY, NM and CO. Every year the district meetings rotates and this year is was in Denver. To keep my athletic training certification valid i have to earn 75 continuing education units every 3 years and attending these meetings is a great way to do so.

This, being my first meeting when i was earning CEU's, was such an awesome experience. I learned a lot of cool new information and gathered tools that i will be able to apply to my practice. I went with 6 other girls from BYU. Some of us are in my shoes, graduated and certified, and some are still students.

We flew out Thursday morning and attended a few lectures the rest of the day.

Friday was the same and then we went to the student quiz bowl where i cheered on the girls representing BYU that were competing against students from other schools. Saturday i went to lectures and then met up with one of my best friends from freshman year, Meagan Norby, who now lives just across the border in WY. She was able to drive to Denver to pick me up and we went to the CO Rockies game. And guess who they played? The Padres! The Padres ended up winning in the 14th inning 5-4. Go San Diego! I just adore Meagan and I am so glad we were able to hang out. 

Sunday morning we attended a few more lecture and then the conference adjourned.

That afternoon we flew home. I was very happy to see my cute hubby again and after a few days of sharing a bed i was glad to be home in my bed. I loved my RMATA experience and cant wait for next year. 

Happy Easter

As Easter approached i decided i wanted to cook my first Easter dinner for Tristan and I. And so i did. I planned out the menu, did the shopping and consulted with my mom. I was very excited to cook my first ham, cause, i. love. ham. I even did research to find the best ham for the best price. Costco it was. 

Our brothers, Jeremy and Brady came over for dinner to make it a family event. Dinner turned out very well. We had ham, funeral potatoes, green bean casserole, poppy seed salad and rolls. yum.

Two thumbs up to the chef, if i do say so myself. 

I had a wonderful Easter/Conference weekend. I love it when these two events fall on the same day. Its a perfect way to celebrate Christ and be uplifted by the words of our leaders.

Disturber of Peace

This little Hoover may look harmless, but he's not. He, in fact, has been the center of many "discussions". 

I have recently learned that Tristan does not like it when I vacuum while he is in the house. Why? Not totally sure. Messes with his Chi, disturbs his peace, roars over the volume of the television. But now, when i feel the need to use the vacuum, i wait for him to leave or get in the shower. 

He'll never know. Hoover, its our little secret.
