wondering what we're up to?

My dad calls us the retired couple. We have nothing on the agenda and just do whatever the day brings us. Tristan golfs. I shop. We nap, eat popsicle's, go on walks, sit in the sun, and laugh at Callen. We've begun packing! Everything is off the walls and the boxes are filling up the dining room. Three days until our mom's fly in, four days until we drive away in the moving truck. In my last few days here I plan on enjoying the hot Utah weather, saying see ya later to friends, and eating BYU creamery ice cream.
In other news...
1. We went to get a snowcone at our favorite shack and this is what we found...
Closed. By order of the Utah County Health Department. Sketchy!

2. We were in church today a total of  30 minutes when Callen started having some toots. Then he ripped a fat, juicy, loud fart that everyone around us heard and started laughing. It sounded like he destroyed his diaper. That's when we realized we forgot our diaper bag. Rookie parent mistake. So, we walked right out and went home to change the little man. Callen makes church so fun!

Anyone want to come pack and clean my house for me?

sibling dinner

We got together for one last sibling dinner before Kelsey left Provo for the summer and Tristan and I move. Lots of good food, laughs, and chillin' on our big comfy couch. It has been fun all being in Provo together for the last two years. I'm going to miss not being able to see them all the time. The only good part about this is when they come home we will be there.
We love you Kelsey and Brady. Please come visit.

crying baby

Is is evil to laugh when your baby is crying? This is Callen's new cry that is absolutely darling, heartbreaking, and hilarious at the same time. He only does this when he is completely distressed. And of course we had to record to share...

instagram

It's the new thing and I've become quite in love. Posting and sharing pictures is a great way to stay in touch. After all, a picture can say a lot. Be sure to follow me on instagram @btperdue to see what we're up to every day.
Here are some of my recent posts.

grandma and grandpa

Yesterday we visited Grandma and Grandma Jensen one more time before we move. The boys went golfing, the girls went shopping and we all went to lunch. We spent the afternoon out in their beautiful backyard enjoying the weather and each others company. I have loved having them so close during my seven years in Utah and am grateful for the all the fun times, memories, and close relationship I have been able to have with them. Football games, Sunday dinners, cousin get togethers, and family reunions, all things I'll cherish forever. Grandma and Grandpa's home was always a peaceful escape from the crazy college life. I am thankful they have welcomed Tristan as one of their own grandchildren and now love Callen so much.

Thank you for ALL you have done for us and the love you have shown. We can never repay you or thank you enough. We love you Grandma and Grandpa!

6 weeks

Callen is SIX weeks old today!! He continues to grow too fast and cracks us up every day. It has been so wonderful being able to spend all day, every day as a family. Tristan and I have ble to watch our little guy grow and share these moments together.  I love my little family.

Callen bug,

You are turning into a chubster. Your cheeks and chin spill over onto your carseat straps and your thighs are slowly becoming bigger. You could say there is more of you to love. I am not exactly sure how much you weight but we go to see Dr. Holmes next week.
You have learned to smile. You still need practice but you are getting so good at it. You smile when we play with you, when you hear our voices, looking into space, and even in your sleep.
You are starting to drool. Its kinda adorable, as long as it doesn't get out of control.
You are talking more and more. I can't get enough of your sweet voice.
A few days ago you were having a rough day. Because of either poop, pee, or spit up you went through 8 outfits, Mom went through 3, and Dad went through 2 outfits all in a 24 hour period. We did a lot of laundry that day.
When playing you prefer to sit up or stand, with help, so you can see everything.
You can hold your head up all by yourself now, except when you are are sleepy its just. too. hard. and it flops.
You are still wearing newborn diapers but that will only last a very short time.
You have grown out of the outfits you wore the first 4 weeks of life and are now wearing 0-3 month or 3 month sizes. You are just too long for everything.
You officially love bath time.
When sleeping you always turn your head to the right to sleep in that position.
At the six week mark you are entering the PURPLE cry period. When babies cry more in the second month of life than any other period. You do cry a bit more but can be soothed without much  difficulty. You are developing different types of cries, some heartbreaking, some hilarious.
During the day you nap best when being held but come nighttime you sleep like a champ in your crib for 3-4 hour stretches.
Your spit-up is lethal and we swear you try to get it everywhere besides the burp cloth. The couch, the floor, shirts, pants, blankets, mom's hair, down the shirt, and shoes have all fallen victim.

You are such a beautiful, handsome, perfect baby we have so much pride in and enjoy showing you off. We feel incredibly lucky to be your parents.  Thank you for coming to our family.

Love you tons and tons,
Mom and Dad

fathers day

Tristan's fathers day started and ended with me taking all over-night shifts to let Tristan sleep. Sunday morning we went to church. Tristan picked out Callen's outfit. They looked adorable.
The rest of the day we hung out as a family and I was as selfless as possible letting Tristan hold his son as much as he wanted. That's a big deal. We had a steak and potato dinner topped off with Tristan's favorite, strawberry rhubarb pie. This time I made it with fresh ingredients and it was the best strawberry rhubarb pie I've ever had.
Before they went in the oven.
I am so thankful for what an amazing father Tristan has been over the last month. He has surprised me beyond belief. And I am thankful for my dad. Where would I be without his love, guidance, and support? Love you!

trail walk

Saturday morning we went for a family walk up the canyon along the Provo river trail. We brought BOB along. It was a perfectly gorgeous day for a relaxing long walk. I showed Tristan and Callen were I've spent hours every Saturday morning training for my races. It is one of my favorite places on earth. The smells, the sights, the sounds, all make me happy.
Callen got his feet dipped in the Provo river. It's cold and he didn't like it much.
