2 months

July 8, 2012
Callen is already TWO months old!!

Baby Callen,

You are now a California resident! Yea boy! How does it feel? You were born in Provo, Utah and lived there for a full 50 days before moving with Mom and Dad to your real home, California. Sometimes we laugh at you because your birth certificate will forever say "Provo, Utah" (no offense to my Utah besties). We hope you grow up to be a So Cal beach rat but when asked where you were born you will always have to say Provo. It makes your Mom happy. Provo has a very special place in my heart. You are my Provo token and I will always have you with me to help me remember a great time in my life.
In the last month you have...
Moved from Utah to California.
Went to the beach for the first time. July 4, 2012.
Started sucking on your closed fist.
Began drooling. Totally normal according to Baby Center.
Started cooing a little more. It just melts our hearts.
Your form of laughing is coughing. You get really excited and a single cough comes out and we all know its your laugh.
Started liking being upright more. You like to stand and sit with help.
You have officially graduated to size 1 diapers!! No more newborn size booty.
You are getting better at watching people and can follow them around the room.
You are slowly turning into a little person.

We love you son,
Mom and Dad

the KPMG life

Today was Tristan's first day as an official KPMG employee! After eight weeks of staying home as a family someone finally had to start earning some money. Today was Tristan's first day in the corporate world, first day someone else was bringing home the bacon instead of me, first day being a stay-at-home-mom while my husband went to work, first day of the real grown-up life. It feels awesome. Tristan started his day with an early morning surf sesh, followed by a run, and then getting ready for work and heading out the door. Just like his first day of school pictures...here are his first day of work pictures. So corporate sexy, right?
 Just look at those smiles!
Family Picture. (Callen and I were headed out on a run of our own.)
While Tristan was away Callen and I played and planned a secret dinner party surprise for Dad. Callen is more of a distraction than a help because you just want to sit and play with him all day.
I made a sign with the cricut and hung it in the living room.
For dinner my Mom and I planned, shopped for, and made grilled chicken breasts marinated in Phil's BBQ sauce (best BBQ place ever), grilled asparagus, green vegetable salad, cilantro lime quinoa, and Costco rosemary bread. I called Mike and Kelly, Tristan's parents, to join us for dinner so we could all be apart of Tristan first day. Tristan had no idea they were coming and was completely surprised. It was perfect way to celebrate Tristan and spend time together as family.
Mom, gill master.
Kelly, Callen, and Mike
For dessert we roasted marshmallows over the BBQ and made s'mores.
Tristan, I am SO proud of you and all you have accomplished to get you to this day. Callen and I are so thankful and blessed to have you as a husband and father. We love you tons and tons!

july fourth

Happy 4th of July! Today was special. Why? Because Callen went to the beach today for the first time! And that's a pretty big deal. It was a windy and overcast day on the coast so we bundled up extra well. Callen wore his matching swim outfit for the first time and stole the crowd.
First Perdue family picture at the beach. Happiness.
 All bundled.
We beached it during the day, ate some burgers for dinner then ended the day with the Legoland firework show.
Hope your 4th was just as memorable.
