I've been asked about having pregnancy food cravings. My answer has always been no because I've always been rather fond of food. Well, this week I discovered a recently developed craving... fruit. I love fruit and have wanted more of it. My kitchen is currently stocked with bananas, apples, oranges, blueberries, raspberries, honeydew, grapes, kiwi, and strawberries. Before I would have found this a bit excessive but now it's a necessity. Me and baby love our fruit.

park city
I was a lucky girl today. I took the day off work to hang with Tristan and the Nothum's. We headed up to Park City to shop the outlets.
It was my first time at the Outlets and I fell in love. They literally have all our favorite stores. It's probably a good thing I haven't discovered them before. We went a little crazy. Tris and I came home with bags from Gap, Volcom, Motherhood Maternity, Polo, OshKosh, Van Heusen, Izod, Carter's, and Gymboree. Everyone got something.
Seriously...that is not right!
It was a perfect day.
33 weeks
And just like that I'm 33 weeks along...sheesh it's going by fast. Tristan and I went to see Dr. Holmes today. Everything is looking and measuring great. Blood pressure is normal, gained 1 pound since last visit, and the belly is still measuring 1 week ahead. I'm hoping this keeps up, maybe he'll come a bit early. Since last visit Braxton Hicks have started, happening a couple times a day. They kinda scared me at first but then I realized they are all normal. I'm still feeling great overall despite having a hard time tying my shoes. Tristan is always asking me how I'm doing and touching the belly asking if little man is moving around. I bought my first piece of actual maternity clothing this week, a few shirts...and I love them. Made for a belly and so comfortable. Up until now I have been buying bigger sizes and wearing looser clothing but that's just not cutting it anymore. I feel like a full on pregnant lady now, its fab.
Here's to the next 7 weeks.

no thumb's are back
Guess who's here!!?? THE NOTHUM'S! I came home from work Friday afternoon, opened the front door and there they were, Spencer, Brittany, and Henry sitting on the living room floor. Tristan was in on it the entire time, planning their trip from St. Louis to Utah during Spencer's spring break. I was in total shock. It has been 11 months since we said, "See ya later" to the Nothum's when they packed up and moved to Missouri. It is SO good to see them again. So good. Our first stop was Cafe Rio, of course. It feels like they never left. We were able to meet 9 month old Henry for the first time. What a cutie.
Bath time in the sink.
Park time.
I'm taking work off tomorrow so we can hang out all day. Can't wait.

nursery
Nursery is going well and we are loving it more and more. The kids are adorable.
Today we went on a walk and smelled the flowers.
Our favorite little guy is Jack, on the far left. He has the cutest laugh and look at those cheeks.
Tristan especially loves snack time...
smarty pants
My brother Brady is quite the smarty pants. He is a member of BYU's Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society which is the top 10% of all BYU students. Last Wednesday there was a dinner for society members and their guests. Kelsey and I attended to cheer Brady on.
Brady and his friend.
The stud muffin himself.
Goooo Brady!
Proud sisters.
No wonder he wants to be a doctor someday!

st. patty's day
Happy St. Patrick's Day! What a weird holiday when you can't drink green martini's or are not in elementary school building leprechaun traps. I don't even own any green. Does mint count?
On a normal note...I love Saturdays. Only day to sleep in, eat breakfast at home, clean the house, and hang with Tris all day. This morning we went to watch Brady and Kelsey play in their Intramural soccer game...and dominate! For lunch I met Becca and Olivia J at Zupas for a berry spinach salad. Delish! I love lunch dates with best friends. A few hours later we met up with Tristan's friend from school, Eric, his wife Amber, and their twin boys, to watch a little BYU Baseball.
After the game Tristan and I went to Sizzler for the second Saturday in a row. Of course we had the same waiter from last weekend who says, "Weren't you guys here a few days ago?" Embarrassing. "Um, yea, last weekend." We attempted Outback tonight but with a hour long wait we decided on Sizzler again. I needed meat.
Dr. Holmes office called me this week with my blood test results. No
diabetes but borderline low iron. So I've started taking my iron
supplement again. After Goggling "high iron foods" spinach, red meat,
and potatoes were high on the list and I decided I needed all of
those...in one day. When the lady at Sizzer asked if I wanted to upgrade
my steak from 6oz to 8oz for a dollar I did not hesitate saying yes.
How was your St. Patrick's Saturday?

pie day
Tristan informed me we missed celebrating national Pie Day. March 14th...3.14...get it? So of course we went to Costco for a Costco sized apple pie to belatedly celebrate this important holiday. If you remember, pie is number two on Tristan's list of things he's thankful for. Right behind me and right before Slurpee's. This might have to become a significant holiday in our household. And Costco pie is the best!
Thoughts:
My friend Janae has an amazing blog called The Hungry Runner Girl. She is a huge runner: aiming for a sub 3 marathon, sponsored, travels to race all over the US, and posts all about her workouts. Her blog is all about running and food, a lot of food, exactly what I love reading about. She recently announced she is pregnant, expecting her first in August. Could her blog be anymore geared toward what I love and am all about? Yesterday she posted a piece out of a book she is reading entitled, Mile Markers.
These excerpts totally hit home and made me feel so much better about not feeling like runner right now. You are still, and always, a runner because it is something deep, something powerful, something untouchable, no matter your circumstance.

overdoing it
I had my first experience of accidentally overdoing it. Utah has seen a warm change in the weather which equals Brittany wants to be outside. Monday I got off work early to low sixty degree weather. Tristan agreed to go for a walk with me. I chose the route, down to the park and back, which is 3 miles round trip with a hill. I've run this route many times during my training and practically have the sidewalks memorized. Easy peasy. On the way back, after the hill, my belly started cramping. I sat and stretched. With no relief I decided I should not push myself any further. As I sat on the curb Tristan ran home to get the car. At our doctors appointment the next day I told Dr. Holmes I might have overdone it. He said, "I hope you didn't go skiing." No, no we went for a walk. "Oh," he says, "those walks can get ya." You're telling me! Sheesh.
My mom suggested it's my body telling me to take it easy. Being on my feet, running around to doctors commands for 9 hours a day is enough. Sometimes I wish I could be that lady who ran a marathon 40 weeks pregnant, that would be awesome.
Listen, belly...I'm sorry. I promise to take it easy, but seriously, don't ever do that again.
I scored sweet running compression socks from work and have started wearing them a couple times a week to help with circulation.
No cankles yet and I'm planning on keeping it that way. I can't wait to wear these orange beauties during a real run.

dust off the sewing machine
It's been a while since I've put the sewing machine to work. I was browsing Pinterest for something to sew and decided on these easy burp cloths. Thank you Pinterest...what would we do without you? I hit up the fabric shop for some fat quarters and terry cloth and went to work. I sewed a simple rectangle with printed cotton on one side and white terry cloth on the other.
My friend Kenzi, who is our sports med x-ray tech, offered to make my car seat cover for me. Love her! I picked out the fabric and let her borrow my car seat (figured I won't be needing it for a bit) so she can work her magic.
The grey fabric will be on top and dark blue on the underside. I love the ric rac color.
We added another piece to our "temporary nursery"... rubbermaid drawers! We figured they are a lot smaller and lighter than buying and moving a dresser. We moved all his clothes in and its starting to look more like home.
Today we had my 30 week doctors appointment. Everything is looking fab and baby's head is down. I had my Rhogam shot at 28 weeks and was supposed to also complete my glucose test but have been avoiding that one. I think I'll drink that orange goodness tomorrow and just get it over with. Dr. Holmes wants to see us back in three weeks. Home stretch!

flag football
Tristan, his pink gloves, and his team had their first flag football game of the season Friday night. The boys were pretty excited.
It was a pretty chilly night with snow on the field from the last snow storm.
Our team pulled out the win. This is the last intramural season, ever. Only 45 more days (including weekends) until graduation.
