blankie love

Callen has recently begun to share my love for blankets. I love them. Snuggling, sleeping, and I even took my childhood blanket (that my Great-Grandma Jensen made for me) to college. Callen has a millon blankets but had become attached to the two that Grandma Tucker and his Great-Grandma Jensen made for him before he was born. He drags them around, hands them to me and wants me to wrap them around him. It's a little scary when we have to wash them. He saw them through the glass of the washing machine and said, "Uh oh!" Then he would play and then remember they were still in there and go back pointing through the glass saying, "Uh oh!" again.
When they were all dry we had good snuggle right there on the ground.

use your words

Callen is starting to talk more and more. At his one year appointment Dr. Tolba asked me if Callen could say any words. At the time he could say, Mom, Dad, dog, and hot (random but it's an important one for not getting burned). Dr. said they don't expect children up to 18 months of age to say more than three words so he was already ahead of the game. Since our appointment he had added ball and balloon to his vocabulary. He doesn't say his words every time he talks but is getting better and better at it. Yesterday as we were driving he was grunting and pointing at something he wanted so I handed him his sippy, not what he wanted, then I handed him his toy shovel, also not what he wanted. Then he took his pacifier out of his mouth and said, Ball!" Oh! Well that made things a lot easier! I loved having a little baby but gezz it's so much easier taking care of someone who can communicate with you. On the other hand I dread the day he says something incredibly embarrassing.

fathers day

Happy Father's Day!
I am beyond grateful my husband is an amazing father to our child.
We joined Tristans Dad and his whole family for dinner at the Newport Yacht Club.

memorial day

We started our holiday at my parents ward breakfast and then as soon as Callen was up from his morning nap we were at the beach! Callen loves playing in the sand and he does very well using his sand toys scooping up sand and putting it in his buckets. Dad and Grandpa dug holes that Callen enjoyed climbing in and out of all day.

The boys took the paddle board out and Callen showed off some moves too.
That evening we went up to Tristan's Aunt and Uncles house for a BBQ with the whole family. Callen played with Sam who is just two weeks older.
Another amazing family and food filled holiday.
