one month old

My newborn is one month old today. Let me tell you how sad that makes Mom, Callen. Why are you growing so fast? Slow it down a bit alright? 

Dear Mr. Callen,

We mostly call you stinker bug now but still use all the other loving names.
You are a happy baby. Complaining is very minimal.
You are so cute Mom and Dad just want to eat you up. And we let you know that several times a day.
You are still wearing your newborn clothes but they are slowly starting to become too short. You are a tall little guy. We have started dressing you in big boy clothes, shorts and t-shirts, instead of just pajamas.
You always protest when put in your carseat but slowly are complaining less. We are hoping you start liking it real quick for our 10 hour drive to Carlsbad in three weeks. 
You are smiling more and more and almost on purpose instead of it just being a reflex. You have the most adorable smile.
You are superman, holding your head up all the time now.
We have seen you laugh in your sleep a few times. 
Your awake time is becoming longer and longer. Typically you stay awake for about an hour and a half after eating before getting grumpy.
You love to stare at a black and white picture in the family room. You become quiet, still, and will stare, unblinking, for a few minutes. 
You love being swaddled but are really good at wiggling out of your blanket. We pin your arms down to your sides and wrap you tight, like a burrito. Dad is best at wrapping.
You have starting grabbing things with your hands. Dad's shirt and Mom's hair. I love your little hands.
Your belly button is looking more and more normal.
I'm almost positive you fake cough. You do it when you want attention and it cracks us up.
You have started jogging with Mom and love being in the stroller.
When you cry we will start talking to you and calm right down.
You've discovered your voice and are using it more and more. When we talk to you you like to chime in once in a while.

We love you more than ever and love watching you grow and learn more every day. Thank you for making our family complete.
