7 months

December 8, 2012

Callen,

You shared your seventh month birthday with my 26th birthday. It was fun celebrating with you. On your seventh month birthday you met Santa. I wasn't terribly afraid of how it would go because you are all boy, curious and not afraid of strangers. You sat on his lap, looked at me and then straight up at Santas face, grabbed his beard and tried to pull it right off. Meeting Santa was a huge success!

In your seventh month:

You have become an expert sitter. You can lean over to grab things and keep your balance. You hate being on your tummy but love sitting.
You can now roll over both directions, but you only do it when you really want to.
You finally got your own crib! Sorry we are bad parents, Callen, but with the move and not being in our own home and the possibility of moving again soon we never got one. Before the crib you were sleeping right in the middle of a queen size bed. You love hanging out and just playing in your crib.
You experienced your first Thanksgiving. You had your own turkey and sweet potatoes dinner thanks to Gerber baby food.
You graduated from eating in the bumbo chair to eating in your highchair. You love your highchair and do so well eating in it.
You love to stand and hold on to something. I stand you in your crib and you can side-step from one end of it to the other while holding onto the railing.
You learned to pick up food and put it in your mouth. This is huge! You totally surprised me.
You hate being in your infant carrier. You stick your elbows out as we try to squeeze you in there and buckle you up.
You love sitting in shopping carts. This is why you are the perfect partner to run errands with.
You are a Baby Einstein fanatic. You can jump in that thing for almost an hour straight and boy do you get major air.
We sleep trained you this month. Your sleeping habits were getting worse and worse, waking up several times a night, when we finally decided something had to be done. It only took a week of letting you cry it out all by yourself in the middle of the night but now you go to bed at seven o'clock and stay asleep till six in the morning and take 2-3 naps a day.

Thank you, sweetheart, for making our lives so much better.
We love you tons and tons,

Mom and Dad
